We have arrived in Costa Rica!

We arrived in Tamarindo, Guanacaste, Costa Rica on January 2, 2015.

The town was bustling with tourists and vacationers – and quite honestly, was not at all what we had expected. We tried in vain to find a hotel room to stay in after having spent two nights on a windy beach, but there was not a a room to be found in town.

We were lucky to find a hostel who had room for our tent and we settled in.

The task at hand now is to find a place to rent for the duration of our visa – a chore that is appearing to be quite daunting at this time of year.  We will however explore some of the other villages and beaches in the Tamarindo area today and will see if we find anything.
